I feel like all we’ll see from them now is RDR and GTA, over and over and over again. They’re too focused on spending years on their big budget titles that they aren’t focusing on the smaller, more unique stuff anymore to fill the gap.

If they could make something the scale of IV in four years while releasing all those games, they aren’t using their full potential nowadays. They should have the ability to make more games, and maybe not at the scale that they used to, but still maybe a new game every 2-3 years, with all the studios they have working on different things. They made all those games in a neat span of 4 years, but now we only get a new game from them maybe once a console generation. Most of those games in my honest opinion were better than GTA V. They made GTA IV in four years, while also giving us Midnight Club, The Warriors, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, Table Tennis, Bully, Bully Scholarship Edition, and Manhunt 2 in between. While the gameplay may feel outdated now, especially when compared to V or RDR2, at the time it was such an amazing leap forward from SA. I would argue that behind John Marston and Max Payne (never bear RDR2 so I can’t comment on Arthur Morgan but I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about how he is written) Niko Belic was such a well developed and written character. Maybe I’m just a cynical man.īeside all that, the story of IV was amazing. Let GTAVI release as buggy as Cyberpunk just did and all the younger gamers who spent their time and money grinding/buying shark cards will quickly turn on them.īut, I haven’t really played much video games/payed attention to the video game community as a whole over the last 3 years. Now, we know that GTA V is making its way to the PS5, but if youre interesting in everything we know (or think we know from rumors) about Grand Theft Auto VI. No single player DLC, crunch, low output, re-re-releasing V and micro transactions up the fucking ass have left a bad taste in my mouth. The only reason why R* isn’t crucified like EA or UBI or even CDPR is because GTAV and RDR2 are so godamn good and polished. GTA V, more specifically, GTAO was the beginning of the end imo. They consistently released classics from 2001-2011.
